The fonds consists of minute books, treasurers reports, membership lists, lists of speakers and programmes, listings of books circulated, scrapbooks and photographs. There is one wooden plaque, presented to “Arts & Letters Club” on the occasion of the Incorporation of the City of Burlington, January 1, 1974.

The collection consists of 107 photographs in a binder. Information about the photographs is hand-printed on the reverse. The photographers have not been identified. The subjects illustrated a number of “lifestyle” stories of local Burlington interest: community service organizations, awards, independent business owners, and cultural activities.

The fonds consists of textual materials and photographs. The textual material consists of a small number of original documents such as a hand-written letter from Mrs. Jane A. Whatmough to her daughter, Annie Louise Gallagher, dated 1904, wedding invitations and funeral a programme, as well as Gallagher and Whatmough family trees compiled by Howard Gallagher (1887-1997), a Whatmough Family History compiled by Janet (Whatmough) Cureton in 1974, and a 1932 yearbook of the Ontario Agricultural College and Macdonald Institute (Guelph). Included is a typescript, "Greenwood Farm", by Grant A. Whatmough, 1976 (225 pages). There are 80 photographs. Some had labels or inscriptions, others were identified with the assistance of Grant A. Series consists of documents relating to Jacob Cooke’s property development business and includes correspondence, mortgage application questionnaires, National Housing Act specifications, materials and parts lists, receipts, Worker’s Compensation documents, purchase agreements, and cashed cheques. Series includes an operator’s manual for 1941 Chevrolet and Maple Leaf trucks.
